Introduction

FORMO operates an online marketplace connecting clients, Personal Trainers, gyms and training venues in the Maldives. This Privacy Policy explains what information FORMO collects, why it is collected, how it is used and protected, and what rights users have over it.

What Data We Collect

What FORMO collects depends on how you use the platform:

Account information — name, email address, phone number, account type (client, Personal Trainer, gym/venue or admin), and profile details you provide.

Personal Trainer profile information — professional profile, certifications, qualifications, experience, specialties, training locations, availability, profile photo, and pricing you choose to list.

Client information — profile information, training preferences and location preferences, enquiry and booking information, and reviews you submit.

Gym/venue information — venue name, location, business/contact information, and any PT job advertisements posted.

Usage information — device/browser information, IP address where technically collected, pages and features used, login activity, and technical logs.

FORMO only collects what a feature you actually use requires — this list reflects what the platform collects today, not a general allowance to collect more.

Why We Collect Data

Information is used to: create and manage accounts; connect clients with Personal Trainers; help clients discover gyms and training locations; facilitate bookings and marketplace interactions; let Personal Trainers build a professional profile; let gyms advertise PT job opportunities; display reviews and ratings; improve platform functionality; communicate with users; maintain security and prevent fraud or abuse; and comply with applicable legal requirements.

By registering for or using FORMO, you provide the information necessary for the specific features you use. Where a feature is optional, providing related information is optional too, and its purpose is explained where it's collected. If FORMO ever introduces marketing communications, it will use an opt-in mechanism rather than assuming consent.

User Rights

Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to: access the personal information FORMO holds about you; correct inaccurate information; request deletion of your information; withdraw consent where processing relies on it; ask how your information is used; object to certain processing; request a copy of your data in a portable format; and contact FORMO with privacy questions or requests (see "Privacy Contact" below).

Availability of these rights can vary by jurisdiction; this section describes them in general terms rather than guaranteeing every right applies in every case.

FORMO does not sell users' personal data.

Information is shared only with service providers where necessary to operate the platform, such as hosting/cloud infrastructure and database providers, and email delivery providers (for account verification and notifications). Where payment processing or analytics are introduced in the future, this section will be updated to name those providers before they process any user data. Service providers are expected to handle information only for the purpose FORMO engaged them for.

Data Security

FORMO uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect user information, including secure authentication, encryption in transit, access controls, and secure hosting infrastructure. No system connected to the internet can guarantee complete security, and FORMO cannot promise information will never be accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed in breach of these safeguards — but FORMO works to minimize that risk.

Data Retention

FORMO retains personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain accounts, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and prevent fraud or abuse. Information no longer needed for these purposes is deleted or anonymized, subject to any legal or legitimate business reason to keep it longer.

Cookies

FORMO uses a small amount of browser storage (such as session/local storage) to keep you signed in, remember your light/dark theme preference, and keep the platform secure. This is used for these functional purposes only — FORMO does not currently use cookies for advertising, and this section will be updated if that changes.

Age Requirement

FORMO is intended for users aged 18 and older. FORMO does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided FORMO with personal information, please contact us using the details below so it can be removed.

Health Information Disclaimer

FORMO is a marketplace connecting clients with Personal Trainers — it is not a medical service and does not provide medical advice. Personal training and fitness information provided through FORMO is not a substitute for professional medical advice. If you have a medical condition, injury, or health concern, consult your doctor and inform your Personal Trainer before beginning or changing an exercise program. Personal Trainers on FORMO should not represent themselves as medical professionals unless they are appropriately qualified and legally permitted to do so. FORMO does not ask for medical information beyond what a feature genuinely requires.
